Tell Us: How Would You Improve Upper Macungie in 2014?

Let us know what you think the township could do to improve itself this year.

On Monday night, Upper Macungie's Board of Supervisors will hold its first meeting of the year.

With that in mind, we thought we'd talk about the new year, and resolutions.

More than 45 percent of Americans make a resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.

As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what could we do right here in Upper Macungie to make it an even better place to live?

What is on your Upper Macungie wish list? What is one thing you would improve in 2014? What would you like to see our elected officials take on

Tell us in the comment section below or blog about why you love living here!

Tear down all warehouses. Tear down all new housing erected since 1983. Put a halt to all new construction. Get rid of all jaindls and their ilk. Send all new residents from NY, NJ & elsewhere back to where they came from. Give us back our land!!!

AND if you can't do what Betty Hendel suggest then but a moratorium on all new development of any kind. The roads cannot handle more congestion, pollution, noise. Oh yes what about noise there is NO NOISE CONTROL. Trucks allowed air brakes but most places this is banned. Include a stupidity fine for truckers. FINALLY with all the businesses and warehouse in this townshop there should be no taxes in this township at all... ALL PLANNING AND ZONING MEETINGS AGENDAS BE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE ON LINE, THROUGH THE PATCH AND UPPER MAC's WEBSITE. the fact your are not doing this now is questionable in itself. The people of Upper Macungie should not have the burden to find in small print what the heck is going on till it's to late. We are tired after working to pay taxes... It's bad enough our tax money is going to a police force while Lower Macungie still uses State Police and borrows our tax paid force. YUK UPPER MACUNGIE set an example that people can take back their land, their township that was once a beautiful place now an industrial nightmare...

Here we go again for the new year... Although this problem does not have anything directly connected with the township, I would appreciate the township looking into this. in the knoll of wedgewood development located between Cetronia, Krocks and Herbert drive - we have constant power outages - storms or no storms - it doesn't make a difference. This has been going on for over 30 years and no one will say what the problem is. Houses across the road on a different primary line have no power outages yet we are constantly losing power - the area without power is 243 houses. There must be a defect somewhere that can be corrected. We've been without power for hours and sometimes days. Many neighbors have purchases generators due to constant outages. I'd like the power issue in our neighborhood resolved for 2014!

What's so special about 1983? I believe the Jaindls were here prior to that. Is Air products allowed to stay? Upper Macungie is at the crossroads of 3 major highways - I guess we should get rid of those too.
