Second Mosquito in Upper Macungie Tests Positive for West Nile Virus

The DEP and Lehigh County West Nile Virus staff are responding with additional surveillance and control to these reports.

A mosquito tested positive for West Nile virus this week in Upper Macungie Township, according to data released Friday by the state Department of Environmental Protection.

There were a total of 37 new mosquitoes that have positive for West Nile virus, according to the DEP.

The DEP and Lehigh County West Nile Virus staff are responding with additional surveillance and control to these reports.

Earlier this mont, the DEP reported that West Nile Virus sickened a Montgomery County man.
