Parkland Library To Host Discussions of Books On Screen

It's part of the Read About It! book discussion series of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.

has been chosen to sponsor a series of book discussion groups as part of a program called Read About It!

The four discussion sessions, led by Lehigh Carbon Community College English professor Carrie F. Myers, will center around Books on Screen. Participants will explore the relationship between literature and film adaptation as they read and discuss, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, True Grit, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Winter Bones.

The discussion group will meet at the library from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept.14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9, and Dec. 14.

Registration is first-come, first-served.

The program is free and open to the public. Special knowledge about literature is not required.

The first 15 participants will receive their own copies of the books featured in Books on Screen. The program is limited to 30 participants.

Books on Screen is part of Read About It!, a book discussion series of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council. The program is supported with the federal Library Services and Technology Act funds administered by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries.
