It's Time To Plan Your Weekend

Check out a drum circle, family fishing and lots more fun-filled events this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. 

Patch is coming to the rescue once again. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the local activities to hit this weekend. Enjoy!

1.    FAMILY FISHING PROGRAM

Where/When: The Ponds at , 1935 Apple Road, Fogelsville; Saturday, 9 am – 1 pm.

Why Go: The pond is stocked with fish, so every participant is sure to catch one. It’s great fun for all ages!

2.    FOURTH ANNUAL MISSION GOLF TOURNAMENT

Where/When: Woodbridge Golf Course, Albright Road, Maxatawny; Saturday, 8 am shotgun start.

Why Go: Held annually by in memory of Doug Hanna, this event provides a day of great fun and golf. Cart, green frees, contests, hot meal and drinks are included.

Pricing: $75/golfer; call Terry Oplinger at 610-462-5324 to register.

3.    DRUM CIRCLE 

Where/When: Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., Allentown; 1-2 pm.

Why Go: Moe Jerant of the Lehigh Valley Drum Circle will demonstrate how to play djembe drums.  Drumming reminds individuals to stop, slow down and focus on what really matters in life.  Program is open to all ages and will meet on the library lawn.

Pricing: Free.

4.    UFC EVENT—TITO IS BACK

Where/When: , 238 Sycamore Dr., Breinigsville; Saturday, 9 pm.

Why Go: Watch Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz in this exciting UFC event.

Pricing: No cover charge.

5.    BLOOD PRESSURE SUNDAY

Where/When: St. Anne’s, 6667 Lower Macungie Rd., Trexlertown; Sunday, 11:30 am.

Why Go: Shouldn’t everyone keep an eye on their blood pressure?

Pricing: Free.
