Frugal Family: More Ideas for a Frugal Birthday

You may be used to receiving presents on your birthday, but do you make the most of that special day? Many restaurants and shops have Birthday Clubs that have perks to help you celebrate, including coupons and freebies.

In April I wrote a  about local eateries and businesses that offered a little something to birthday revelers. Since then, I've received more e-mails with offerings. Here are a few more places that will help with frugal birthday cheer:

• On the Border has Club Cantina, and for your birthday, you’ll receive an e-mail that includes a coupon for a FREE Dip Trio or Brownie Sundae.

• Rita’s gives you a cool treat a week before your special day – a FREE regular Italian Ice! Just bring the coupon to your closest location and enjoy an icy treat.

• Red Robin Gourmet Burgers sends a coupon for a free Gourmet Burger of your choice AND a FREE Birthday Sundae! How’s that for a frugal happy birthday meal!

• Do you have a My  card? If not, sign up because they’ll give you a FREE pastry or sweet in honor of your special day.

• If you pick up a Habaneros Club Card next time you’re at , you can register it online and receive perks, including $10 on your birthday.

•  will send you a coupon for a FREE kid’s size cone as well as a link for $3 off a cake to help you celebrate.

• When you sign up to So Connected on  website you'll receive a exclusive updates and on your birthday a coupon for a free handcrafted burger.

• The Shammy Shine Car Wash located on Airport Road in Allentown will give you a free car wash on your birthday.

• My personal favorite is still . When you get their Insider Card you not only build up points that you can redeem for products but you also get a rather nice birthday treat. This year I’m looking forward to a bottle of vanilla Birthday Cake scented shampoo, shower gel, bubble bath. (It does have an alternate treat for male card holders.)
