It’s Thursday, and we’ve got the best bets for your done-work (and school!)-outta-here time. Check our picks for the local activities to hit that will provide fun for the whole family. Enjoy!

Where/When: , 1439 Fairmont St., Allentown and Clover hill Winery, 9850 Newtown Rd., Breinigsville; Thursday, 5:30 – 7:30 pm and Saturday, 11:30 am – 5 pm

Why Go: This unique photo workshop begins with a class at Dan’s Camera on Thursday covering basic camera settings and techniques. On Saturday, participants have the opportunity to apply the techniques learned in class while shooting at the winery.

Pricing: $99.99 per person

Where/When: Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., Allentown; Saturday, 1-2 pm

Why Go: Specifically for students in 3rd – 6th grades, this program allows participants to make either a decorative chalkboard or a picture frame. Examples of projects are available to view at the circulation desk. Register by calling 610-398-1361 x 19.

Where/When: Falcon Pavillion at Upper Macungie Park, 1625 North Rt. 100, Fogelsville; Saturday, 10 am – 2 pm rain or shine

Why Go: This fun-filled, challenging outdoor activity, similar to a scavenger hunt, utilizes GPS units or smart phones with GPS capabilities to locate hidden treasures. Those who have GPS units are invited to bring them; units will also be available to use at the event.

Where/When: Rascal’s, 6616 Ruppsville Rd., Allentown; Sunday, 12-4 pm

Why Go: Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée; free attractions for parents; free crafts for kids; and half-price Ballocity.  Did we mention lots of fun, too?

Saw him last year with Jason Aldean. Also saw Blake Shelton. Two great shows. Will definitely be atRead More Luke Bryan this year. He puts on a heck of a show.
