The ponds at Apple Park in Fogelsville could see a new fishing pier built in the near future, according to Upper Macungie officials.
Director of Public Works Scott Faust told supervisors Thursday night that a 10-foot wide by 20-foot long fishing pier could be built on the ponds for a cost of about $3,000, using the township's manpower.
However, there was no timetable discussed on when any construction might begin.
The ponds at Apple Park are not only beautiful, but are home to many avid fishermen throughout the township and the region.
The ponds are historically stocked annually with trout by the township for enjoyment of fisherman.
Popular activities, including Family Fishing days and Boy Scout catch-and-release programs, are held annually.
This year's township Family Fishing days are scheduled for June 8 and July 20.
