Final Approval Sought for Weis Fuel Station

The Upper Macungie Planning Commission will consider revised plans for the proposed Weis Gas-N-Go fuel station in Fogelsville on Wednesday.

The Upper Macungie Planning Commission will consider revised plans for the long-awaited Weis Gas-N-Go fuel station, slated for 7801 Glenlivet Drive in Fogelsville.

In May, planners asked Weis engineers asked for changes to the planned eight-pump station before giving approval.

Those changes included moving the entrance to accommodate traffic flow during busy periods.

Once planners give their approval, the plans move on to the Board of Supervisors for its OK. That may not happen until July.

Weis Markets took the first step in its quest to build the fuel station in March at the Fogelsville location when it received a use variance from the Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board.

The prospect of additional retail stores at the Fogelsville Weis shopping center at Route 100 and Glenlivet Drive West took a step forward recently when Upper Macungie Supervisors approved a preliminary lot consolidation plan.
