Upper Macungie Township sets Wednesday date for curbside yard waste pickup and spells out the parameters for what can be put out for pickup. After that, yard waste must be brought to the township drop-off site on Grim and Schantz roads.
Upper Macungie Township provides property owners with the means to properly dispose of their leaves and yard waste with a one-time only, curbside pickup of yard waste this Wednesday.
After that, yard waste may be deposited at the Upper Macungie Yard Waste drop-off site on Grim and Schantz roads.
WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 9
WHAT: Leaves from trees, bushes and other plants, shrubbery clippings and tree trimmings.
WHAT NOT: No grass clippings, roots from trees or shrubs, or lumber. Improper bags, bundles or materials will go uncollected and tagged to notify residents of reasons why materials were not accepted.
HOW TO PREPARE: Yard waste must be placed in commercially designed open trash containers (with sloped sides) no larger than 32-gallon capacity with a loaded weight of less than 60 pounds. each. Smaller limbs and branches must be tied and properly bundled to a maximum size of 48" x 18" x 18" with a maximum weight of 60 pounds. If branches and limbs are not tied and bundled, they will not be picked up. Ties for bundles must be made of bio-degradable materials.
HOW MUCH: Combined maximum of six containers will be collected. All containers must be out Tuesday night after 6 p.m.
