Anonymous Donor Funds Vehicle Purchase For Sanctuary at Haafsville

Ford Transit is valued at $25,000.

Efforts to fund in Upper Macungie Township are in full swing.

In addition to the donations already accounted for, one board member, who wishes to remain anonymous, has generously agreed to fund the purchase of a Ford Transit for the Sanctuary.

The vehicle is valued at approximately $25,000, and will be used by Liz Jones, executive director, for animal transport and other Sanctuary business.

“I hope to have the vehicle ‘wrapped’ to resemble a dog, so it will be easily identifiable on the road,” Jones said.

Ken Petrini, CEO and chairman of the board, is quick to acknowledge all donations, pointing out “each board member has given to their own level of ability.”

In addition, he stated third-party contributions are going very well.

“No contribution is more treasured than any other,” Petrini said.

In fact, the Petrini noted he was touched by a recent contribution of $25 from a high school classmate he had not seen in 35 years.

In addition to the monetary support, individuals in the community are donating time and opening their homes to foster animals.  Suppliers and service providers have graciously extended discounts to the project, as well.

“Everyone seems to be touched by the project.  It has been a real community effort,” Petrini said.

Groundbreaking of the actual site took place early last week, according Jones.
