5 Things To Do Around Town This Week

Attend a presentation by the Wildlands Conservancy, listen to talented students at a chorale concert or find out what's happening at the Recreation Board meeting.

Here's just some of what's happening in Upper Macungie Township this week.

 -- Parkland Community Library presents  “Wildlife of the Watershed” at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The program will be held in the township building, located at 4444 Walbert Avenue, next to the library.  Families can enjoy a PowerPoint presentation given by members of the Wildlands Conservancy, a discussion of the watershed habitat and meet some real animals.  Reservations are requested by calling 610-398-1361 x 13.

 -- Walk-in spring registration for South Parkland Youth Association is being held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Springhouse Middle School cafeteria.  This registration includes baseball, rugby, soccer and softball for spring 2011. For more information, visit www.spya.org.

 -- Parkland School District will hold an Elementary Chorale Concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Springhouse Middle School. The concert will feature elementary students from the entire district. The performance is free and is open to the public.  For more information, visit www.parklandsd.org

 -- Join the knitting circle at Parkland Community Library from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Knitters of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Participants should bring their own knitting materials. Call 610-398-1361 x 13 for more information.

 -- Upper Macungie Township Recreation Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the township building, located at 8330 Schantz Road in Breinigsville. Township residents are encouraged to attend.
