1-3 Inches of Snow Expected in Lehigh Valley

A sloppy post- Christmas winter storm is expected to bring snow, sleet and rain to the Lehigh Valley Wednesday and Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for a sloppy mix of rain, sleet and snow with the possibility of one to three inches of snow accumulating in the Lehigh Valley.

WFMZ meteorologist Matt Broderick says precipitation will begin as snow between late this morning and early this afternoon.

  • Today: Snow before 4pm, then rain and sleet. High near 36. Breezy, with a northeast wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Tonight: Rain and sleet, becoming all rain after 7pm. Low around 32. Windy, with a northeast wind 17 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New sleet accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.
  • Thursday: Rain likely before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers between 1pm and 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 8 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 37.
