Wednesday in Upper Mac: Library Movie Night and $245M Powerball Jackpot

A free car wash for emergency personnel, activities at St. Paul's UCC Church in Trexlertown and soccer and volleyball matches at Parkland High School highlight Wednesday's events.

Wednesday, Sept. 11 is expected to feature a return to summer temperatures, with partly sunny skies and a high around 91 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Here is what you need to know for Wednesday in and around Upper Macungie Township:

  • The Parkland Community Library, located at 4422 Walbert Ave. in South Whitehall will hold its monthly Night at the Movies on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Each month, the library hosts the exclusive screening of a unique and often award-winning film. Under the licensing agreement, the library is not permitted to list titles. Please call the library at 610-398-1361 for more information.
  • The Kuhnsville Car Wash is honoring emergency services personnel Wednesday, by offering all emergency services personnel -- police, fire and EMS -- a free basic car wash with proper identification. The free basic car washes are available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The car wash is located at 5627 W. Tilghman Street. 
  • The Parkland School District fourth-grade band and strings ensemble will hold a meeting Wednesday night at Parkland High School at 7 p.m.
  • St. Paul's UCC Church in Trexlertown, located at 1249 Trexlertown Road will host crafters at 9 a.m., followed by quilters at noon. A Narcotics Anonymous meeting will be held at 7 p.m.
  • The Parkland High School girls soccer team hosts Liberty under the lights Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The junior varsity game is at 5:30 p.m.
  • The Parkland High School girls volleyball team hosts Whitehall in a Lehigh Valley conference match at 7 p.m. The junior varsity match gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
