Wednesday in Upper Mac: Classroom Orientation and Books Into Movies

You can watch lighted practice sessions at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center or attend The Great Allentown Fair Wednesday.

Wednesday, Aug. 28 is expected to feature partly sunny skies with a 30% chance of thundershowers and a high near 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Here's what's going on Wednesday in and around Upper Macungie:

  • Jaindl Elementary School students and parents will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at their new classrooms Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Parkland High School 9th Grade/New Student Orientation takes place Wednesday. Buses pick up students up at regular time noted on bus cards. Students depart home at 11 a.m.
  • The Parkland Community Library will hold its Books Into Movies discussion group Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the library, located at 4422 Walbert Ave. in Allentown. 
  • The Valley Preferred Cycling Center, located at 1151 Mosser Road in Breinigsville, will hold lighted training session for UCI Elite and USA Cycling licensed athletes, beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
  • The Great Allentown Fair continues Wednesday at the Allentown Fair Grounds with hours from noon until 11 p.m. Click here for more information.
  • A Narcotics Anonymous meeting will be held at St. Paul's UCC Church in Trexlertown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
