Tuesday in Upper Macungie: Teen Library Meeting and Free Breakfast

Indoor volleyball at Fogelsville Elementary School and a full slate of Parkland High School athletic events highlight Tuesday's calendar.

Tuesday, Oct. 1 is expected to feature mostly sunny skies with a high temperature near 78 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Here's what you need to know in and around Upper Macungie Township Tuesday: 

  • The Parkland Community Library will hold a Teen Meeting Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Have you ever wanted a say in what youth books the library buys, to discuss what you’ve been reading, to help prepare for activities and programs, meet new people and have some snacks? Join us and let your voice be heard. For students in grades 7 though 12.
  • Chick-fil-A in Trexlertown is offering free breakfasts every day this week from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 6379 Hamilton Boulevard. Tuesday is the second day of the promotion.
  • Indoor recreational volleyball takes place Tuesday at  Fogelsville Elementary School from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.  The program, sponsored by Upper Macungie Township, will run each Tuesday through March 25 with the exceptions of Dec. 10, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.   • It's Picture Day at Jaindl Elementary School in Upper Macungie. Smile!
  • The Orefield Middle School PTO will meet at 9 a.m. at the middle school.
  • The Food Pantry at St. Paul's UCC Church at 1249 Trexlertown Road in Trexlertown will be open Tuesday from 10 a.n. to noon.
  • The Parkland High School girls and boys cross country teams will host Emmaus, Central Catholic and Whitehall. The boys meet starts at 4 p.m. with the girls running at 4:30 p.m.
  • The Parkland High School boys soccer team will host Easton in an evening Lehigh Valley Conference game. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
  • The Parkland High School girls volleyball team hosts Allen in an evening Lehigh Valley Conference match that begins at 7 p.m.
