Tuesday in Upper Mac: Locker Night and Tennis Sessions

The Parkland High School golf team kicks off its season and the Parkland School Board meets at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 20 is expected to feature mostly sunny skies with a high of 86 degrees. Perfect weather for enjoying the remaining two weeks of summer.

Here's what's going on in and around Upper Macungie:

  • Parkland School District will hold Locker Nights forOrefield Middle School students and Springhouse Middle School students on Tuesday from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. This will give the middle school students an opportunity to orientate themselves for the coming school year.
  • Upper Macungie Township is pleased to offer tennis lessons in the township. The second set of summer sessions begin Tuesday at Ricky Park, located at 5875 Ricky Ridge Trail. Come join Head Tennis Pro George Henry, along with Keith Soanesas Assistant Pro and learn the game of tennis from some of the best instructors in the Lehigh Valley.   • The Parkland High School golf team hosts Allen and Freedom in a Tuesday match starting at 11:30 a.m.
  • The Parkland School Board will hold a workshop meetingat 7 p.m. and a regular meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the administration building, located at 1210 Springhouse Road in South Whitehall.
  • The Terry Hill Water Park, located at 10000 Hamilton Boulevard, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday. The park offers fun for the whole family featuring rainbow slides, a Wild River, a Lazee River, a Tarzan rope and a diving board. The park also features a miniature golf course. Amenities include free use of picnic tables and lounge chairs as well as hot showers and parking. A refreshment stand sells ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sodas and iced tea.
