This course is taught by Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission staff. The Basic Boating Course was developed to supply boaters with practical information on boating and water safety. Boating Safety Education Certificates are required for all operators of personal watercraft, regardless of age, and for boat operators born after January 1, 1982 that operate motorboats of more than 25 horsepower. Students must be at least 12 years of age and who successfully complete this course may apply for a Boating Safety Education Certificate issued by the Commission. This Course meets the mandatory education standards set by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) for motorboat operation, and Commission certification is accepted in most states with mandatory education requirements.

More About Independent Park Community Center
Independent Park is Upper Macungie Township’s community center. Open to residents (at discount) and non-residents, the 25 acre park offers a range of facilities and areas, including a 9 hole par 3 golf course, trail areas as well as the community center. Rooms can be rented for private occasions, including weddings, parties, meetings and club activities.
