Jim Brunell Wants to Connect with Citizens as Supervisor

Brunell says Upper Macungie Supervisors have lost touch with the public and that's one of the reasons he's running. Brunell also wants to control township spending that he terms reckless.

Jim Brunell of Upper Macungie Township feels that he's willing to listen to the community as a member of the Upper Macungie Board of Supervisors. "I feel that we've lost touch with the public," Brunell said. "We have to be willing to listen to the community. Our current leadership has lost connection with the people they serve." Brunell is running against incumbent Upper Macungie Supervisor chairman Edward Earley in the May 21 Republican primary. Brunell says the township has been spending money at a reckless rate. "The current trend of spending is at a rate I don’t think we can sustain without an increase in taxes. We were recently assessed a 100 percent increase. Meet County Candidates Friday at Tea Party Program

The Lehigh Valley Tea Party will host candidates running for Lehigh County executive and commissioner on Friday.

The Lehigh Valley Tea Party's monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Friday will include two programs at the Charles Chrin Community Center in Palmer Township. State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe will speak on proposed HB357 which would nullify any new federal gun control laws and make any attempt to enforce them a felony. Metcalfe will also discuss HB671—“Constitutional Carry.” Immediately after Metcalfe's presentation, those in attendance will have a chance to meet local candidates running in the May primary.
