Steve Martin Headed Back to State Theatre

Martin and his band the Canyon Rangers will perform a bluegrass show April 28.

Actor, author, comedian and musician Steve Martin returns to the State Theatre later this month to perform with The Steep Canyon Rangers in an evening of Bluegrass and Banjo. The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28. The show had been originally been scheduled for November 2012, but was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. Tickets from that show will be honored. Martin will perform bluegrass and banjo tunes from his Grammy-winning album "The Crow” as well as his second full-length bluegrass album "Rare Bird Alert" that was released in March 2011. Local Actor Dane DeHaan Stars in 'The Place Beyond the Pines' With Ryan Gosling

Epic crime drama 'The Place Beyond the Pines' featuring Lehigh Valley native Dane DeHaan will be in most theaters Friday.

A new crime drama starring Emmaus High School graduate Dane DeHaan has opened in select cities and will be shown widely starting April 12. "The Place Beyond the Pines" includes Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, who play DeHaan's parents, and Bradley Cooper. Crayola Experience in Easton will reopen in May with new activities and displays that the company hopes will attract 150,000 more visitors a year.

Ink that puffs up when you heat it. A 40-foot wall of crayon bins. An 85-foot water attraction. Those are all among the new features kids will be able to see and take part in when the Crayola Experience reopens in May. Easton's main tourist destination closed for renovations in mid-February, but on Tuesday, the company gave a tour of its soon-to-be-upgraded building to members of the media and local officials. Alicia Varcoe, a North Whitehall native and Parkland High School graduate, will celebrate the release of her debut album Since I Fell for You with a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Springhouse Middle School in South Whitehall. Tickets for the concert will be available at the door for $10. Varcoe began her jazz career as the vocalist for the Elon University Jazz Ensemble in Elon, NC. She traveled with the ensemble to Europe where she sang at The United States Consulate General and the Hamburg International School in Germany, as well as the Roskilde Jazz Days in Denmark, according to information provided by the Parkland School District.
