Police say an Upper Macungie man is facing gun charges, among others, after allegedly wielding a pistol during a domestic argument at his home Saturday, according to a report in The Morning Call.

The report said Reginald McGirt, 38, of 1147 Sparrow Way, pulled out the gun and aimed it at his brother-in-law after he intervened in an argument between McGirt and his wife, court records say. The report said no shots were fired.

Berks-Lehigh Police officers caught up to McGirt at Cetronia Road, the report said.

Police investigators say McGirt had an argument with his wife about money when the wife's brother-in-law and the brother-in-law's stepson intervened, according to the report.

Police said McGirt pointed the gun at the brother-in-law's legs before putting the weapon away, the report said.

The report said the gun was later found in the area of Cetronia Road and Sparrow Way. The weapon had a round in the chamber and nine rounds in a magazine and was stolen according to the report.

The report says McGirt does not have a permit to carry a gun, according to court papers.

McGirt was charged with carrying a gun without a license, receiving stolen property, simple assault, making terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and three counts of harassment.

The report said McGirt posted $30,000 bail following his Saturday arraignment.
