Upper Macungie Hosts AARP Driving Classes

The four- and eight-hour refresher courses are designed for drivers 55 and older.

Upper Macungie Township will hold two AARP-sponsored defensive driving classes in November at Independent Park Community Center.

The first two eight-hour sessions are Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The four-hour course is scheduled for Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All classes are taught by trained, unpaid volunteers. The eight-hour class is given in a two-day period in two four-hour sessions.

A $14 non-refundable fee ($12 for AARP members) is charged for either class.

Those completing the course will be issued a certificate, which is valid for three years. Please bring your driver's license and a pen to class.

All automobile insurance companies doing business in the state are required to give a 5 percent discount to qualified policyholders to take the course.

Call Upper Macungie Township at 610-395-4892 and ask for Valerie to register for this class.
