Top Young Bike Racers in Trexlertown July 13
Junior bicycling champions will race at the Velodrome on Friday
This week's edition of the World Series of Bicycling at the Velodrome in Trexlertown will be a little different than the average Friday.
The focus of the night includes the top domestic junior riders joining the international professional racers for an exciting night of racing.
The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is hosting USA Cycling's Juniors Track National Championships for the second time in three years this week and will be merging the Junior Nationals schedule with the typical Friday night racing.
Friday’s World Series of Bicycling event officially starts at 7:30 p.m. The Junior Nationals card gets an earlier start time, with races beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for Friday night start at $5 and kids 12 and under are free.
Marty Nothstein, executive director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, is very excited to have the National Championships in Trexlertown again.
"Having the Junior National Championships here fits into our long term goal of producing world class athletes," Nothstein explained, "It allows us to showcase what we do week in and week out here with our junior and elite riders."
