Parkland Names Two Curriculum Supervisors
Diane Neikam and James Moniz II will work with principals and teachers to maintain and improve the K-12 program of studies.
The Parkland School Board named Diane M. Neikam as Curriculum Supervisor of Elementary Education and James E. Moniz II as Curriculum Supervisor of Secondary Education at Tuesday night's meeting.
Both positions will work with principals and teachers to maintain and improve the K-12 program of studies for all Parkland students. In addition, the pair will conduct professional development workshops focusing on continuous improvement of classroom instruction.
“Mrs. Neikam possesses a passion for curriculum and a wide array of elementary experiences, technical knowledge and a proven track record of being highly organized, and an exemplary team member that will enable her to be a very successful leader in this role,” said Louise E. Donohue, Parkland's Superintendent of Schools.
“Jim is skilled, motivated, intelligent and an instructional leader who constantly challenges himself and those around him in striving for continuous improvement. He is a strong advocate for all students and keeps them in focus when making decisions. His demonstrated curriculum development successful experiences make him a fine candidate for his new role in Parkland and we wish him the best in his new position,” Donohue said.
Neikam holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Kutztown University and a Master’s Degree from East Stroudsburg University as well as a Principal’s Certificate from Penn State University.
She served as the principal of Parkland’s Fogelsville Elementary School for the past nine years. Previously, she worked in the Allentown School District where she served as an elementary school teacher, an administrative intern, an assistant principal and as an elementary principal.
Moniz holds a Bachelor’s degree from Millersville University and a Master’s degree and Principal’s Certificate from East Stroudsburg University.
In the Allentown School District, Moniz served as a social studies teacher, assistant middle school principal, assistant high school principal and high school principal. He is currently serving as the Administrator of Strategic Initiatives in the Allentown School District.
