Kutztown girl dead after falling from second floor window
A 9-year-old girl from Kutztown died Thursday after falling from a second floor window at 15620 Kutztown Road.
Michaela E. Downes was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital at 10:43 p.m. Thursday.
The Lehigh County coroner has ruled the death an accident.
The girl was playing with siblings when she lost her balance and fell out of an open screened window about 18 feet onto concrete, according to a Morning Call report. She suffered severe head injuries.

This is a true lesson of why kids should listen and not horseplay in the house, especially around windows. So sorry for the family of her losing a child.

Kids will be kids, and horseplay. Where were adults, and protection?

That is so extreamely sad. Just a pure tragedy. My heart goes out to her poor family.
