If you're reading this, you're probably already familiar with Upper Macungie Patch. We're almost two years old and we've developed a large and loyal following in that time! Thank you!
We want you to know that your continued support is appreciated, and we hope that you will want to get involved in the Patch online community by sharing your thoughts, ideas, photos, announcements and information with your friends and neighbors--directly.
In addition to commenting on stories, did you know what Patch offers you lots of ways to do that?
Here are just a few of the ways you can (and we hope will) become a Patch "power-user."
Post an event on the calendar! Do you have a yard sale planned? Are you a member of a group that holds regular meetings? Are you a member of a church that's planning an event? Are you a business owner who's planning an open house? Are you involved with planning a fundraiser somewhere nearby? Are you a member of a local volunteer fire company that holds drill nights/fundraisers? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, please consider using Patch as a way to reach other Upper Macungie residents. With Patch, YOU are empowered to post things BY YOURSELF. That's right! There's no middleman and you don't even need to contact the editor (although he's always available to answer questions and help you if you get stuck).
All you need is a Patch account (and if you don't already have one, click "Sign Up" in the upper right hand corner of the page). When you're logged in, you're ready to go. You can access the blank NEW EVENT form here. You can even bookmark it, to save time the next time you have something to post!
When you've filled in the required (*) fields in the blank form, be sure to click "Post My Event" at the very bottom of the page. Then you're done! You can also upload photos or PDFs of flyers to your listing.
Then, if you're so inclined, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to let him know that you've posted something on the site. If appropriate, he will consider sharing it with other local Patch sites and even featuring it on the Upper Macungie Patch homepage!
