Funeral Set for Hurricane Sandy Victim

Luther W. Fritzinger, 93, of Breinigsville died Nov. 1, 2012, of hypothermia in his home.

 

Luther W. Fritzinger, 93, formerly of Allentown, died Nov. 1 in the garage of his residence in Breinigsville. He was the husband of the late Claire G. (Schuler) Fritzinger. Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late George W. and Effie (Doll) Fritzinger. He was a machinist at Bethlehem Steel during World War II and a truck driver for H.J. Heinz and the U.S. Postal Service. In his retirement he worked for Plantique. He was a member of Zion’s United Church of Christ, Allentown. Luther was a member of the peacetime Army from 1937-1940. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater of operation from 1944-1946 and was awarded the Purple Heart. There wasn’t a person who met him that did not like him.

Survivors:

Son: Scott A. husband of Patricia A. Fritzinger of Manahawkin, NJ; Brother: Theodore Fritzinger of Whitehall Township; Granddaughters: Heather and Jennifer Fritzinger. He was pre-deceased by a brother Douglas and a sister Fern Trainer.

Services:

1:30 p.m. Friday in the Stephens Funeral Home Inc. 1335-37 Linden St., Allentown. Call 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
