Dog Dumped in Ditch on Route 309

An animal welfare group is asking for the public's help in identifying two men who threw a dog down a ditch off Route 309 in South Whitehall on Friday afternoon.

Two men in a dark-colored, older-model Honda threw a boxer-pit bull mix into a ditch Friday afternoon on Route 309 in South Whitehall, an animal welfare organization said in a press release.

The Association for Animal Protection Legislation and Law Enforcement is asking for the public's help in identifying the men, and for help in the dog's care.

According to the organization, the two men threw the dog down an embankment on Route 309 between Route 22 and Tilghman Street about 2:30 p.m. "The dog was dazed, disoriented and lethargic," the release said. "After being rescued, all this dog wanted to do was sleep."

The dog is a male, un-neutered and red with some white coloring. He is thin for his size and shows neglect, the organization said. "There was no evidence that this dog was ever used for fighting," the release said. "He is friendly, good with people and appears to have a good disposition."

Anyone with information, or who wants to adopt the dog or help with his medical care, is asked to contact the organization at 610-770-0452.

When they find these people, can't we throw them in a ditch and not let them out?
