Upper Macungie Police are asking for assistance concerning the theft of a digital speed sign, which happened at 3:15 a.m. Friday.

A digital speed monitoring sign, which was affixed to a speed limit sign, was stolen from Church Street in Fogelsville Friday morning, according to Upper Macungie Police.

The sign, a common one in the area, is used to illustrate to motorists what the current speed limit is and how fast they are driving.

The sign had been placed at Church Street, between the entrances to Creek View Road.

Police say the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. Friday.

Police said the sign may have a "Your Speed" sign attached to the top.

We need many more of these throughout the community. If they catch who did this, I hope they prosecute. No lo-jack on this though?

Agreed Elsa. Anywhere on Schantz or the surrounding communities. Our residential roads are a race track. It is a joke.
