Developers Get Approval For Downsized Warehouse

The Upper Macungie Planning Board gave conditional approval to the plan, which now goes to supervisors for their input.

The Upper Macungie Planning Board gave its approval Wednesday night to a downsized warehouse plan submitted by Majestic Land Development Co. of California.

The original plan called for a 375,000-square-foot warehouse.

Now, a 220,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is proposed on 29 acres with 36 trailer storage spaces and shipping/receiving docks. The plan also has an employee parking lot with 132 spaces and separate driveways for trucks and cars via Boulder Drive.

There is also room for two truckers lounges on the property.

Majestic first submitted plans for this project in 2006 and had gotten approval then. Dean Haas, Upper Macungie’s engineer from Keystone Consulting, said the project was delayed probably because of the economic downturn.
