A 16-year-old boy from Allentown was taken into custody Sunday for stealing several bottles of alcohol from a garage in the 5000 block of Derrick Drive in Orefield, Upper Macungie Police said.

Police said they responded to a call at 8:11 p.m. that a boy had entered the garage, where he was confronted by the homeowner, and had fled on foot. The homeowner reported several bottles of alcohol had been taken.

Police said the boy was caught sometime later in the 6300 block of Farm Bureau Road.

Police said the boy was taken into custody and remanded to the Lehigh County Juvenile Detention Center.
