Allentown Man Assaulted Wife, Police Say

A fight between husband and wife started in the Sunset Grille parking lot in Upper Macungie and continued to the couple's Allentown home, police say.

An Allentown man was arrested by Upper Macungie Police early Saturday morning in connection with an alleged fight that began in the parking lot of the Sunset Grille.

Police said Daniel Knotts, 38, of Allentown, was charged with simple assault, harassment, unlawful restraint and false imprisonment.

Knotts' wife, 31, told Allentown police she was assaulted by her husband and that the incident had begun about 3:15 a.m. in the parking of the Sunset Grille in Upper Macungie, according to a police news release. It continued until the couple arrived at their home in the 700 block of N. Muhlenberg Street in Allentown, the release said. Allentown police contacted Upper Macungie police.

The woman was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where she was interviewed by police. Her injuries were not specified.

Knotts was arraigned by District Judge Michael Pochron and released on $15,000 bail.

Another abusive animal. People complain the cops sit outside this place and entrap people. Guess what, who cares! Losers like this going to the Sunset Grille, I hope they continue to hang out. Hopefully someone puts a beat down on this individual. Obviously they drank too much. Maybe someone should investigate that place? Lousy food anyway.

Obviously if you don"t know what your talking about the woman works there. She was closing the restaurant at that time. The man was not even inside The Sunset. Get your facts straight before you speak!

Then go to PJ's. Sorry you have such hate in your life that you have nothing better than to bash a family business. Remember what you project out is what you get back . Feel sorry for you.
