Boooo! I'm so sad that they moved the festival out of downtown Bethlehem in order to promote the casino. Our family went every year -sometimes twice - in order to both go to the festival and walk up and down main street and shop. I think that we will just go to downtown Bethlehem this year, as the merchants will most likely be hurting from the Christkindlmarkt being relocated.

Agree with you! I hope they don't hurt downtown Bethlehem to much. I would think the casino does not need much help attracting people. And are gamblers going to spend their money on crafts? Don't know...

I don't think "casino promotion" has anything to do with the move. For good or for bad, it has to do with the fact that ArtsQuest (the organization that puts on Christkindlmarkt) now has its own arts center and campus to promote and use in South Bethlehem.

Daryl, can you tell me why the location was changed seems kind of strange.

I thought I just did explain. ArtsQuest, which puts on Christkindlmarkt, has its own campus at SteelStacks where they now host events year-round. They see it as preferable and more advantageous to host the event what is now their own back yard.

The BEST part of Christkindlmarkt is Santa! I say a little prayer every year that Santa is still there, THE santa...not just any Santa.....We have a book of every Santa picture from when the kids were babies....and it's just this one Santa in every picture.....He is the BEST santa
