2012 Parkland School District PSSA Scores Are In
Parkland High School and Ironton Elementary did not meet Adequate Yearly Progress.

Final PSSA scores for the Parkland School District were released last week and there were no surprises - Parkland High School and Ironton Elementary did not meet Adequate Yearly Progress.
In August, Patch reported that preliminary PSSA results showed both these schools were falling short of AYP goals and final results echo that data.
This is the second year Parkland High fell short of AYP goals. Marge Evans, district coordinator of data assessment and federal programs, said results from most of the students at Parkland High met AYP but a small subset of students did not.

The percentage of Parkland students earning proficient or advanced scores are as follows:

Grade 3 -- 83 percent in 2012 (84 percent in 2011)
Grade 4 -- 84 percent (84 percent in 2011)
Grade 5 -- 75 percent (78 percent in 2011)
Grade 6 -- 80 percent (83 percent in 2011)
Grade 7 -- 85 Percent (92 percent in 2011)
Grade 8 -- 93 percent (94 percent in 2011)
Grade 11 -- 82 percent (83 percent in 2011)

Grade 3 -- 90 percent (90 percent in 2011)
Grade 4 -- 91 percent (92 percent in 2011)
Grade 5 -- 80 percent (85 percent in 2011)
Grade 6 -- 91 percent (92 percent in 2011)
Grade 7 -- 93 percent (95 percent in 2011)
Grade 8 -- 93 percent (96 percent in 2011)

Interesting that school funding was cut, and now scores are down. Im sure they have nothing to do with eachother....
